There’s a vital procedure when forming galvanized sheet. That is water-cooling treatment.

The common zinc content on the GI sheet is about 32-40g/m² both sides.

The water-cooling treatment do not only have water in it. It contains emulsifier in it, which can avoid the dropped zinc layer from sticking to the rollers. The rollers may be rough thus produce untidy sheet.

Process of shaft for Keel Roll Forming Machine

Process of rollers for Keel Roll Forming Machine

The lead time of roller in our company would be about 5 to 7 days.

First step would be material preparation. Raw material is Cr12 or 45# steel. Another raw material is Cr12Mov, which quality is better, of course price is higher.

Secondly, we would lathe the raw material roughly. First perforate a hole in the solid steel bar, then lathe smoothly, both twice.

Third step is quenching. Quenching ways can be vacuum quenching, oil quenching, and ammonia permeating quenching. Although the vacuum quenching is much better than oil quenching, cost would also be higher. The best suitable method would be oil quenching. The cost performance is the highest. For thickness about 0.8mm, we suggest customers quench. Quenching rollers can lead a longer lifetime.

Forth step is smoothing. Smooth surface then holes. By that way, we can ensure the rollers is vertical to the shaft.

Fifth step is to lathe precisely.

Then we move to the sixth step, that is wire-cut the key groove. The key groove on the roller can ensure the rollers would be slide when running. It is dented relative to the raised embossment on the shaft.

Seventh is chrome plated. That is applied to the 45# steel. If the raw material is Cr12. This step is needless.

Lastly, we will clean the rollers to make it shining. Of course, the rollers can be much more shining while use longer.
